Koffee With Karan: Social media users speculate Aamir hinting at this ad while selecting Kareena

With their presence on Koffee with Karan season 7 episode 5, Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor generated a lot of buzz. The actors, who will be seen together in their next film Laal Singh Chaddha, were guests on the latest edition of Karan's talk show. 

During a segment on Karan Johar's show, Aamir revealed that Kareena was not his first choice for the role. In fact, the 'newbie' Aamir was hoping to cast as Rupa featured with Kareena in an ad commercial. Some Reddit users believe the 'newbie' is Manushi Chhillar, a former Miss World and actor.

Kareena Kapoor and Manushi shared screen together in a Malabar Gold jewellery commercial in 2018. Manushi was depicted in the advertisement as an eager bride discussing her wedding day arrangements. After hearing Manushi's story, Kareena expressed her desire to marry again.

On the most recent episode of Koffee With Karan, Aamir stated that he was discussing the commercial with the film's director, Advait Chandan, in order to cast a 25 year old as lead for Laal Singh Chaddha. They wanted to cast Manushi, who was 'very good' in the ad but they got 'lost in Kareena.' That's when they decided to cast Kareena instead of Manushi, who they had originally planned to cast.

Laal Singh Chaddha is the official Hindi version adaptation of the 1994 film Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks played the primary part in the original film. Laal Singh Chaddha, directed by Advait Chandan who also directed Secret Superstar stars Aamir and Kareena alongside Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya. The film will be released in theatres on August 11.
