KK did not disclose he was sick during the event, says celebrity manager who arranged the show

After the shocking news of KrishnaKumar Kunnath's sad demise at a show in Kolkata, celebrity manager Bijit Dey claims that KK didn’t say anything about feeling unwell.

The 53-year-old talented singer passed away due to a heart attack hours after performing live at the Nazrul Mancha theatre in South Kolkata.

Reports suggested that he collapsed after returning to the hotel, and was transferred to a nearby private hospital where doctors, proclaimed the singer dead.

Since KK's death, social media has been awash with claims that alleged mismanagement at Nazrul Mancha had a role in his death. People are blaming the lack of air at the venue, among other factors, and footage from the event reveals that KK was "profusely sweating."

The singer apparently didn’t say anything about feeling unwell during his Kolkata concert on Tuesday and was performing on the “stage for almost two hours”. That’s what a celebrity manager present during the show has claimed.

The performance was organized by Kolkata's Gurudas College, according to celebrity manager Bijit Dey, whose managment arranged KK's appearance at the event. He told the reporters that KK arrived in Kolkata on Monday morning and was scheduled to play at two concerts that day and the next day. Both concerts were completed by the Bollywood singer.

Bijit Dey reported that the crowd at Tuesday's Nazrul Mancha event was somewhat larger than the auditorium's real capacity. Because the event was organized by Gurudas College students, they were not responsible for crowd management.

The celebrity manager went on to clarify that if an artist gets sick during a performance, they must quit immediately, but KK apparently didn't mention anything about being sick throughout the act. He further stated that the singer abruptly slumped on the floor after arriving at the hotel lobby.

Meanwhile, KK's last rites will be held at 1 p.m. in Mumbai, as revealed by the late singer's family in an official post.
