KJo directs Deepika for the first time and we can't wait to watch it!
Karan also shared a few sneak-peak from the shoot. See Pictures.
Undoubtedly, Karan Johar is one of the ace filmmakers in our Bollywood Industry, where he has directed heroines naming Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Anushka Sharma and Alia Bhatt among others. But, the filmmaker didn't yet direct Deepika Padukone and fans wanted these two phenomenal stars of the industry to collaborate really soon.
Though KJo has produced Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani which starred Deepika in the lead role and now this time around Karan directed Deepika for an advertisement for the very first time.
The Student of the Year 2 director Punit Malhotra took to Instagram to share this amazing news piece. The three - Deepika, Punit along with Karan posed together for the picture and Malhotra captioned it as, "Launched a new director at @dharma2pointo today... our very own @karanjohar!!!
Karan Johar too shared a selfie with the lady on his Instagram and captioned it, "Left profilers! @deepikapadukone "
Although the details of this ad shoot haven't been out yet but with Karan and Deepika associated with one project we cannot help but have our hopes ready.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika's next with Irrfan Khan has been kept on a hold now for a few months given that Khan is undergoing a treatment in the States. Irrfan has been diagnosed with NeuroEndocrine Tumour and confirming about the same, he had posted:
Deepika too has a neck injury and has been dealing with her prolonged back problem. Giving a statement on the film's development, director Vishal Bhardwaj had stated, "I am pushing back the film by a few months as both of my lead actors are down with different health problems. Irrfan is down with jaundice and it will take him a few weeks to recover and Deepika Padukone's back problem which had previously developed during the shooting of Padmaavat has now resurfaced. Her role in the film is very physically demanding and the doctor has advised her not to do any strenuous work for a couple of months. In the past few weeks, I felt like I was back in the days of Maqbool while prepping with them. Deepika and Irrfan's look tests have come out exceptionally well, nothing like you've seen before, and it took me a moment to recognize them when I saw the test photographs. I want both of them to be strong and fit before we start the film. I would also like to clear that the film is still untitled and is not based on Rahima Khan/Sapna Didi's life. Yes, it's a takeoff from the story Femme Fatale from Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai but as we worked on this idea, the story and screenplay have taken on a new identity and shape which is nowhere close to the above-mentioned names. Hence, it's definitely not a biopic. Sending pyaar and duaaen to my Ustara and Afshan".
