Kesari Chapter 2: Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday’s Film Gets a New Release Date
Kesari Chapter 2, starring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, has a new release date with an exciting story ahead.

Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday are coming together for a film based on the life of C. Sankaran Nair, a renowned barrister who fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The film, titled Kesari Chapter 2 – The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, has a new release date. Earlier scheduled for March 14, 2025, it will now hit theatres on April 18, 2025.
The film is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the announcement on his Instagram handle, stating, 'AKSHAY KUMAR - R MADHAVAN - ANANYA PANDAY: 'KESARI CHAPTER 2' IS THE TITLE... NEW RELEASE DATE LOCKED... #KesariChapter2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh is the title of #AkshayKumar, #RMadhavan and #AnanyaPanday starrer. The caption read, 'Ek ankahi kahani, ek ansuna sach... Starring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan & Ananya Panday - this untitled film is releasing in cinemas on 14th March, 2025. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi.'
The film is adapted from The Case That Shook the Empire, a book by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. Raghu Palat is the great-grandson of C. Sankaran Nair.
Karan Johar had first revealed the project in 2021, calling it an “untold story of a historic man.” Dharma Productions had shared a note stating, 'This film unravels the legendary courtroom battle fought by Sankaran Nair against the British Raj. His bravery sparked the freedom struggle and remains a testament to the power of truth.'
For those unaware, C. Sankaran Nair was the former President of the Indian National Congress and a member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council.
