Kareena Kapoor praised EX Boyfriend Shahid Kapoor for THIS reason!

Professionally, Kareena Kapoor is making her on-screen comeback after 2 years with Shashanka Ghosh's 'Veere Di Wedding' where she is all elated about this girl-buddy film.

In her personal life, the actress is happily married to her Nawab Saif Ali Khan and together the couple has a son Taimur. As known to all, prior to falling in love with Saif, Kareena had given her heart to Shahid Kapoor. The two were romantically linked for quite a few years and then separated in 2007 to reasons best known to them. Ever since they parted ways, both Shahid and Kareena have refrained from talking about their relationship.

After their successful chemistry in Jab We Met, fans of the couple wanted them to make a comeback on-screen together but the two had strictly refused to share a screen space post break up. In 2015 released film 'Udta Punjab' Shahid and Kareena starred in that film but didn't have a screen space together.

While Kareena was out and out promoting Veere Di Wedding, in an interaction with us, when asked her about her eagerness to work in this film as the producers had waited for her while she was pregnant. To which she expressed, "I think the fact that they wanted to wait was also because somewhere I had given them a belief that I really loved this film. The minute I read this script and called up Rhea Kapoor (Producer) and I was like I am really interested in it. I have never done something like this ever".

She further continued, "When directors and producers come with these kinds of scripts, I think actors want to back them. Look at 'Udta Punjab', mainstream actors have backed that film. That story needed to be told about the whole drug thing in Punjab. The fact that Shahid Kapoor and me, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh who's a huge superstar in Punjab himself acted in this film is because when you bring a great script, actors will want to back it".
