Saif Ali Khan made headlines recently due to a knife attack that occurred last month. Recently, director Akashdeep Sabir made a statement regarding Kareena Kapoor following the stabbing incident involving Saif Ali Khan. In an interview with Lehren Retro, he emphasized that since Kareena reportedly earns less than male leads, she might not have the means to hire a security guard. He remarked, "When you will pay them Rs 100 crore, maybe then they can afford security or a driver at night."
Akashdeep Sabir commented that even though Kareena Kapoor Khan charges a fee of Rs 21 crore, she still couldn't afford a watchman for her home. He added that if actors received Rs 100 crore, they might be able to hire security or a night driver, jokingly throwing in the word "Auto!" for humor.
He also mentioned his long-standing relationship with Kareena, recalling when he first met her as a child. Akashdeep shared how he defended both Saif and Kareena during television debates. He reminisced about directing and producing Karishma, which was Karisma Kapoor’s debut on Sahara, noting that Kareena was just a baby back then.
Furthermore, he acknowledged that while Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan are a classy couple, he found it challenging to answer two main questions during debates, one of which was why there was no security guard outside their residence.
Despite the building being equipped with 30 CCTV cameras, Akashdeep pointed out that these cameras can only help in solving a crime after it occurs and cannot physically prevent a robbery, as they can't intervene to stop a thief. He also raised a second question about why Saif and Kareena do not have a full-time driver available at night.
For those who may not know, Saif Ali Khan recently underwent surgery after suffering multiple injuries during a robbery attempt at his Mumbai home on January 16. The incident left many in shock, with several celebrities commending him for his bravery in protecting his family. The alleged perpetrator is reported to be a Bangladeshi man.
On the work front, Saif Ali Khan is set to appear in Siddharth Anand's upcoming film, Jewel Thief, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat and Kunal Kapoor. Netflix has just released the teaser for this exciting heist thriller.
