Johar’s 2001 iconic directorial Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was a blockbuster film and had a star cast which includes Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Kareena Kapoor Khan. 

The film has had a huge impact on its audience and some dialogues are remembered even 18 years of its release. Now, Karan Johar has opened up about the film and has called it the biggest slap on his face.

During an interaction with Mumbai Mirror, the director shared that while this film was into making thought he was making the biggest film in Hindi cinema since Mughal-e-Azam, until Aamir Khan’s Lagaan and Farhan Akhtar’s Dil Chahta Hai.

He also mentioned that K3G was similar to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and he amalgamated the storyline of Kabhi Kabhie and the family values of Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! K3G dominated the box-office for a long time and even today it is regarded as a massive hit amongst the audience.  

However, Karan said, “K3G is the single biggest slap on my face and my biggest reality check.”

Adding to it he also compared himself to Kareena’s character as Poo, in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He is aware of all the memes online, on Poo’s character. He said, “I am Poo, that’s who I am, I wrote all the lines, picked the clothes, everything.”

KJo is also known as the flag bearer of nepotism, Karan Johar has offered many young and talented stars to the film industry and he is always admired for the efforts he has swamped to create opportunities for the young star kids.
