Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter made their acting debut in 2018 with the Bollywood film "Dhadak," directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The film was a remake of the critically acclaimed Marathi film "Sairat." "Dhadak" was well-received by the audience and was one of the year's box office hits. Recently, reports were circulating that Dharma Productions is planning a sequel to "Dhadak," and actors Siddhanth Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri would be starring in it.
However, Karan Johar clarified on his Instagram page that these reports were false, and Dharma Productions is not making a film titled "Dhadak 2." For the unversed, "Dhadak" was a remake of "Sairat," the original Marathi film did not have a sequel. Therefore, the reports of a sequel to "Dhadak" were false and without any basis. Nonetheless, fans of the film and its actors will undoubtedly be looking forward to their following projects.
Karan took to his Instagram page, where he often keeps his fans updated on his personal and professional front. He wrote, "To put this on the record and for all concerned, we (Dharma Productions) are NOT making a film the title DHADAK 2 as is being reported in various articles."
On the work front, Karan Johar will be returning as a director after seven years with the film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ which stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan and Dharmendra.
