On Wednesday night, local time, Kap's Cafe, the restaurant owned by actor-comedian Kapil Sharma in Canada, was targeted in an attack by Khalistani terrorists. A man, positioned in a car, fired a minimum of nine shots at a window of the recently opened cafe.
Following a violent vandalism attack earlier this week, Kap's Caffe, the newly-opened Surrey cafe owned by comedian Kapil Sharma and his wife Ginni Chatrath, has released its first official statement.
The cafe team shared a note via social media, stating, "We opened Kap’s Caffe with hopes of bringing warmth, community, and joy through delicious coffee and friendly conversation. To have violence intersect with that dream is heartbreaking. We are processing this shock, but we are not giving up."
“Your kind words, prayers, and memories shared via DM mean more than you know. This café exists because of your belief in what we’re building together," it added. Concluding on a hopeful note, the café wrote, “Let’s stand firm against violence and ensure Kap’s Caffe remains a place of warmth and community," it added.

Canadian authorities are investigating the late Sunday night attack as a targeted act of vandalism. Security officials suspect the incident is linked to the Laddi gang, a criminal group associated with the banned Khalistani terrorist organization, Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). The cafe, which recently held a soft launch, is known for its elegant design and community focus. Although no injuries were reported, the property suffered substantial damage.
Law enforcement is focusing on Harjit Singh, also known as Laddi, a Germany-based BKI operative who is wanted in India for terror-related offenses, including the assassination of Hindu leader Prabhakar in Punjab earlier this year. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has offered a Rs 10 lakh reward for information leading to Laddi's arrest, highlighting the seriousness of his suspected involvement in cross-border extremist activities.
