Back in 2019, on the occasion of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s birth anniversary, a biopic film titled Thalaivi starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead was announced.

Ever since, fans have been eagerly waiting to watch Kangana turn into the political leader on screen as the teaser and posters had already created huge buzz around the film. The film was slated to release on April 23 this year, but the makers had decided to push the release due to the rising number of Coronavirus cases in the nation.

Recently, there have been numerous rumours about the release date of Thalaivi. On Monday,  the leading actress Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram story and responded to the rumours.

Kangana clarified that her film Thalaivi will release in theatres whenever cinema halls reopen. She wrote:

“No relase date has been finalised for #Thalaivi yet, please refrain from rumours, we will release the film as and when cinemas open all across the country... thanks.”
