Nag Ashwin has proved that he is one of the most visionary and audacious filmmakers of India with Kalki 2898 AD. The movie, a Rs 600 crore dystopian action epic has its roots in the Mahabharata. The star cast has delivered with Amitabh Bachchan showing people how it’s done at the age of 81. Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan too are in fine form. While the slow first half has got some flak, the interval and mind-blowing climax has convinced the audience that Kalki 2898 AD is worth a trip to the cinema halls.

The film is looking at a thunderous opening at the box office. The weekend could be around Rs 200 crores. The best part is that it is picking up in North India. Even in small centres, there is a mania around Kalki 2898 AD, which is growing by the day.
