Shah Rukh Khan reveals why he did not scold Deepika Padukone on Om Shanti Om sets

Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Karan Johar are holding a discussion at WAVES 2025 Summit where the topic is the Insider Vs Outside debate. Deepika Padukone said one of the reasons she got motivated to pursue a career in Bollywood was how she was treated on the sets of Om Shanti Om. She said the sets felt like home, and she could be vulnerable whenever she felt like things weren’t going right. Deepika Padukone said Shah Rukh Khan was very patient and kept her encouraging her. After hearing this, Shah Rukh Khan had something to say, and it left people in splits.

He said that when Deepika Padukone was shooting for Om Shanti Om, she was under 18 years of age. Shah Rukh Khan said as an adult, he just could not reprimand a literal child on the sets. He said she was the youngest there, and no one had the heart to scold her. Deepika Padukone began to laugh on hearing that. Later, he also said that now she is a mother to a child. Shah Rukh Khan said she is a wonderful mother to Dua. He said this is the best role of her life, and she was born to be a mom.
