Ranndeep R Rai, currently portraying the character of Aryan in the popular television show Anupamaa, produced by Rajan Shahi and Deepa Shahi, recently opened up about a topic that many actors struggle with — the invasion of personal space by the audience. While actors often cherish the love and admiration they receive, Ranndeep emphasized that there must be clear boundaries between public appreciation and personal intrusion.
Speaking candidly in a recent interview, Ranndeep shared how deeply affected he feels when people overstep their limits. “Everyone works hard,” he said. “The audience who watches us on screen also have their own struggles and challenges in life. I completely respect that. But it is equally important for them to understand that stepping into someone’s personal space — especially when it's not invited — is simply not okay. It causes tension and makes me feel stressed. Respect is essential.”

Ranndeep further elaborated on the fact that audiences often fail to distinguish between an actor and the character they play. While Aryan, his on-screen persona, may behave in a certain way, Ranndeep clarified that he is quite different in real life. “We play a role on screen — that is our job — but we are not that character off screen,” he pointed out. “I am not Aryan in real life. We are humans beyond the roles we portray, and we deserve to live our lives with the same respect and freedom as anyone else.”
He tells viewers to be more considerate. “I sincerely request everyone to reflect on this. Give artists their space. Appreciate the work, enjoy the characters, but don’t forget that behind the makeup and scripts, we are individuals who value our privacy. Getting too personal doesn’t do any good for either side. I hope this mindset changes for the better.”
