During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, John Abraham talked about his upcoming film "The Diplomat" and shared his thoughts on the evolving landscape of Hindi cinema. When asked about successful films, he specifically mentioned "Chhaava," praising Vicky Kaushal's stellar performance and acknowledging the actor's dedication and talent.

The last film that’s doing well is Chhaava. I messaged Vicky. I was so happy for him, John said. John Abraham also expressed his congratulations to producer Dinesh Vijan, commending him for the film's impactful success. The actor shared his excitement about "Chhaava's" box office triumph, emphasizing its role in attracting audiences back to theaters.

John Abraham went on to commend both Vicky Kaushal and Dinesh Vijan for their dedication to creating meaningful cinema. “I’m grateful that there are people like Vicky and Dinesh in the industry who are trying to make a change and do good cinema. I wish, and I hope that I could be one of them," he stated.

John expressed his hope that "The Diplomat" would become a surprise hit, contributing to the positive shift he sees happening in the industry.

Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films, Chhaava is a captivating historical action drama centered around the Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, portrayed by Vicky Kaushal. Rashmika Mandanna takes on the role of Maharani Yesubai, while Akshaye Khanna plays the formidable Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

The cast also features Ashutosh Rana as Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite and Divya Dutta as Soyarabai, Sambhaji’s stepmother. This film is adapted from the renowned Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. Enhancing its cinematic experience, the powerful soundtrack is composed by A.R. Rahman, with lyrics crafted by Irshad Kamil.
