John Abraham donates his social media accounts to NGOs amid the Covid-19 crisis!

While India is reeling under the fury of the novel coronavirus, several Bollywood stars have made efforts to do their part in the nation’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. India has witnessed a surging demand for medical supplies have stressed the healthcare infrastructure. 

As many actors and influencers have utilized their twitter handle to amplify the requests for medical supplies; actor John Abraham has decided to donate his social media accounts to NGOs. The actor boasts 8.8 million followers on Instagram and his Twitter has 3.2 million followers on Twitter.  

The second wave of the Covid-19 has triggered an unprecedented surge in the cases which has increased the demand for medical supplies, especially oxygen which has proven to be one of the crucial elements for the patients contracting the novel virus.

Taking to his social media handles, the Mumbai Saga actor’s caption read: “Anything and everything to save lives and win this battle TOGETHER (sic)”.

John Abraham's statement read: 

As a country we are experiencing a very grim situation. With each passing minute, there are more and more people who are unable to procure oxygen, an ICU bed, a vaccine and sometimes even food. 

However, these trying times have also brought people together, to support, to make a difference and attend to needs. 

Starting today, I will be handing over my social media accounts to NGOs we have partnered with across the country and all content posted on my handles will be exclusively to help connect those affected with the resources they require. It is time to extend ourselves to humanity and take measures to overcome this crisis.
