Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja starrer Jhanak has been under the scanner for quite some time now. While the story of the show has been extremely regressive, after a point of time, the TRP drop too pushed the makers of Jhanak to finally take a step, as a result of which, the show is now headed for a generation leap.
India Forums had exclusively reported about the show taking a 20 year leap and the entire cast of the show calling it quits. Well, Hiba Nawab, the titular face of Jhanak has now confirmed the news in a conversation with the Bombay Times and has opened up on why did she take the said decision. Speaking to the portal, the actress calls the show her 'baby,' and states that she has worked really hard for the role. ''I am very sad that I will be now exiting the show. Jhanak has been my baby and it was a great opportunity to play this role. But, at the end of the day it is the maker's vision and story and I am sure a 20-year leap will bring freshness to the show. I have been playing Jhanak for the last 15 months and it was challenging essaying this role. Shooting in Kashmir and rowing the shikara was very tough because I am scared of water. I feel my role had great scope and it has done wonders for my career,'' Hiba says.

Further revealing why did she decide to quit the show, the actress states that she will not look good playing a 45 year old woman and says, ''I had to exit the show because I would not look convincing as a 45-year old woman. I learnt a lot of skills while essaying the role of Jhanak. I am not a trained dancer but I had to play a very good dancer in the show and so it was tough looking perfect and giving several performances in the show. I remember I did everything that was required for the role and even lost weight because I had to play this young college girl from Kashmir.''
