Arjit Taneja on Jhanak leap: 'Another journey, another piece of me'

Actor Arjit Taneja, currently seen in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye opposite Sriti Jha, has now stepped into a lead role in Star Plus' popular show Jhanak. The show recently took a 20-year leap, bringing with it a new story and fresh faces.

Popular television actors Riya Sharma and Arjit Taneja will now be seen as the main protagonists, replacing Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja, who were the original leads of the series.

Arjit shared his excitement about joining Jhanak through an Instagram post. Posting a picture of his new look from the show, he wrote:"Another journey, another piece of me.Catch Rishi Chatterjee on Jhanak, tonight onwards at 10:30 PM on @starplus and on @jiohotstar anytime. Let's do this!Ps - could be fun to love him too (figuring out myself as well)."

While not much has been officially revealed about the post-leap storyline, the channel recently released a new promo offering a small glimpse of what viewers can expect.

Riya Sharma will now play the role of Jhanak. Arjit Taneja will be seen as a police officer, named Rishi Chatterjee. The promo shows an interesting first meeting between the two.

In the promo, Jhanak is seen walking with her bicycle. As she is going along, a police officer's motorcycle accidentally bumps into her cycle, causing it to fall. The officer immediately apologizes, but Jhanak refuses to accept his apology.

Trying to make amends, the officer offers her money as compensation, but Jhanak firmly rejects the offer. She tells him that instead of taking the money, she will visit the police station and file a complaint against him.

This short promo hints at the bold and fearless nature of Jhanak's character and suggests that viewers can expect to see fiery chemistry between the new lead pair. The fresh dynamics between Jhanak and Rishi promise to bring a new energy to the show.
