Jhanak fame Dolly Sohi passes away after battling cervical cancer

Television actress Dolly Sohi and her sister Amandeep Sohi have tragically passed away. Dolly, known for her roles in "Jhanak" and "Parineetii," lost her battle with cervical cancer. Meanwhile, Amandeep succumbed to jaundice.

Dolly Sohi, known for her roles in various TV shows, passed away this morning after battling cervical cancer. Her family confirmed the sad news, stating they are in shock and will be conducting the final rites later today. While confirming the news with Etimes, Dolly's family stated, "Our beloved Dolly has left for her heavenly abode today early morning. We are in a state of shock with the loss. The final rites shall be conducted today afternoon." 

Tragically, just the night before, Dolly's sister Amandeep Sohi, also an actress, passed away due to jaundice. Dolly's brother confirmed the news, mentioning they are too overwhelmed to seek further details from the doctors.

Dolly had been battling cervical cancer since 2023 and had recently been admitted to the hospital due to breathing issues, but she showed signs of recovery after receiving immediate treatment. However, she had to step away from her role in the show "Jhanak" due to health complications following chemotherapy. Last year, she shared her chemotherapy journey on Instagram, thanking everyone for their support and emphasising the importance of resilience.

Throughout her two-decade-long career, Dolly was known for her roles in various television shows. She was married to Avneet Dhanowa, a Canada-based NRI, but their relationship faced challenges after she became a mother.

Reflecting on her diagnosis, Dolly had previously shared her struggles with Etimes in breaking the news to her young daughter. She emphasised the importance of remaining positive and reassuring her daughter that she would recover. Dolly's journey, both on-screen and off-screen, touched the hearts of many, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and strength.
