Javed Akhtar defamation case: Arrest warrant will be issued if Kangana Ranaut does not reach the court again

In the defamation case of Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar, actress Kangana Ranaut was to appear in the magistrate court in Andheri, Mumbai today. 

However, due to the deteriorating health of Kangana, she could not register her presence in the court.

Regarding the absence of the actress, the court said that if Kangana fails to appear on the next date, September 20, then an arrest warrant will be issued against her.

The next hearing of the court is on 20 September.

It is worth noting that Bollywood's veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar has filed a defamation case against Kangana. 

The matter was heard in the court today. Javed Akhtar was present in the court, while Kangana was absent. 

In this case, Kangana's lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui told the court that the health of the actress is not well. 

Along with this, the lawyer demanded exemption from the court's appearance, which was accepted by the court and asked Kangana to appear in the court on the next date. 

While giving a warning to Kangana, the court said that if Kangana does not appear in court on the coming date, an arrest warrant will be issued against her.

Court has dismissed Kangana's petition in the case.

Last week, the Bombay High Court dismissed Kangana Ranaut's plea to quash the defamation case filed by lyricist Javed Akhtar.

Let us tell you that after the death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, actress Kangana Ranaut had accused the Bollywood industry of nepotism. 

During that time, Kangana Ranaut had publicly named many veteran actors and celebrities associated with the film industry. 

Kangana also named Javed Akhtar, after which the lyricist filed a defamation case against Kangana.

 Now the matter is in Bombay High Court.
