Janhvi Kapoor’s marked a successful debut with Dhadak alongside Ishaan Khatter. The duo successfully managed to spring their magic on-screen impressing the audience. Moreover, the film also charted huge numbers yet, Janhvi was accounted to the criticism.

Coming from a filmy background, Janhvi has faced her share of struggles and the trolls that have always been directed towards her. Janhvi says criticism is an opportunity to better herself and improve.

During a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Janhvi spoke about the criticism she has faced and how she dealt with the same. “I don’t allow myself to get bitter about it. When my first film came I even got comments like...good that your mother is not around to see this…I can’t allow myself to get bitter or hurt. I’d rather see the criticism as an opportunity to better myself. I would rather live in a bubble where everything is okay and then try to improve myself,” she said.

Being the daughter of India’s legendary actor and beauty Queen, Janhvi never gave up even after her mother’s sad demise in February, 2018, just a few months before Dhadak’s release.

Janhvi reportedly faced the same flak during the release of Netflix’s Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl which featured her essaying the role of retired flight lieutenant Gunjan Saxena. Although the film has been embroiled in controversy, critics appreciated Jahnvi’s performance in the film. “Reading some reviews I had tears in my eyes. I didn’t realize how much this acceptance would mean to me. We all say it is enough to work hard and that is enough of a reward. But we all need the audiences’ acceptance,” she said.

In the film Janhvi as Gunjan Saxena sets on a mission to make her father proud and carve a niche for herself in the defense forces which was highly dominated by men. In spite of not having women's toilets and other facilities, Gunjan never gave up and went to Kargil to fight for her country. She became the first Indian female pilot in combat.
