Jaideep Ahlawat, known for his remarkable performances, recently revealed a personal struggle when it comes to watching himself on screen. In a candid interview, the actor admitted that he often finds himself disappointed by his own work. However, there have been exceptions, including his hit Prime Video series, "Paatal Lok," and Meghna Gulzar's "Raazi."
In a conversation with his co-star from "Jaane Jaan," Saurabh Sachdeva, Jaideep shared his unique approach to watching his work. He mentioned that he managed to watch "Paatal Lok" two full months after its release. As for "Raazi," the only reason he agreed to watch it was because Meghna Gulzar and the film's star, Alia Bhatt, playfully threatened to block his number.
He mentioned that during the filming of "Raazi," he found himself deeply affected by the subject matter, to the point where he experienced nightmares. Jaideep said, "It's normal to be affected by work. With me, I started having nightmares during 'Raazi' for the first time ever. I never used to have nightmares." He further said because he was so entrenched in the world of espionage at the time, because he had read up so much on the subject, he got scared. For the first time in his life, he would wake up with a startling at night.
Jaideep also disclosed that he hasn't seen nearly 80% of his completed work, emphasizing the self-critique he grapples with as an actor. He humorously recounted an incident from the "Raazi" set, where Meghna Gulzar couldn't watch a particular close-up shot he had to perform.
