India is evolving and while women at the Olympics are shinning and making the country proud, these protagonist women on TV shows need evolution too. Its time that on the entertainment front, we and the actors get some much needed some INDEPENDENCE.
When I say we need independence, I imply that our
wonderful protagonists from their respective shows need independence from
certain things. Why?
Because,
its high time you keep re-decorating monotony and pathetic tracks and keep
serving them with a pinch of extra drama. Here we list down the five things our
five leading bahus need to be independent from.
Gopi from 'Saath
Nibhana Saathiya'

Well, On
one hand, where finally the show portrayed the strong side of Gopi (Devoleena
Bhattacharjee) where she is now shown a businesswoman; one just cannot ignore
the other regressive tracks that keep popping. Time and again, Gopi has to be a
source of interference in every possible matter and give her insight (even when
it isn't required). So rather than showcasing the weak and helpless woman, we
would rather be happy if we see an independent and strong woman.
Akshara
from 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'

Ok Akshara
(Hina Khan), we get it! You are a really docile, innocent and the problem-solving
bahu. However, you have got grown-up kids now, where its high time, you stop
seeking approval of everyone. As a woman, you surely have achieved a lot where
you have raised kids to be great people in the world. But, they are surely old
enough to take their decisions themselves, aren't they? You love them and they
love you, but not everyone will love you.
Pragya from 'Kumkum Bhagya'

Born babies
have now become two year olds, several kids have reached 18 and received their
adult pass; BUT still, Pragya (Sriti Jha) has not been able to expose Tanu
(Leena Jumani). In spite of infinite number of plans and trials, Tanu remained
unexposed. So, now that the show is to enter a new phase, where it has gone back in
time, we hope once Abhi (Shabbir Ahluwalia) gets his memory back, Pragya is
finally independent of the central plotting.
Simar from 'Sasural
Simar Ka'

The
Exorcist' makers called and begged not to pulverize the concept of exorcism.
But we are way too helpless as Simar (Dipika Kakar) keeps macerating the genre
of supernatural horror. After turning into makkhis
(flies) and getting aatmas (spirits)
in herself, we certainly hope she is done and dusted with allowing spirits in
her body. The leap is all set to happen and hopefully it is an independent look
at entertainment.
Ishita from 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein'

A leap has
already taken place; however, Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi) isn't still independent
from her detective duty' in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.' Be it kidnapping cases,
plotting instances or any other activity, ACP Abhishek Singh (Vivek Dahiya) may
not be active and intuitive about the same; the way Detective Ishita Raman
Bhalla is. But, its about time to get independent of it, right?
Its about time we start actually glorifying women for real, where though we talk about how women are the rulers on Indian Tv shows; but it is the sheer monotony that actually rules..
