It's been an emotional rollercoaster: Bhumi Pednekar as she completes the filming of 'Bhakshak'

Bollywood actor Bhumi Pednekar recently finished filming for her upcoming film 'Bhakshak,' the makers announced on Monday. 'Bhakshak,' set in Bihar, is inspired by true events and exposes the ground reality of crimes against women.

According to the official synopsis, the film follows an unwavering woman's quest for justice and her perseverance in bringing a heinous crime to light. Pulkit of 'Bose: Dead or Alive' fame has directed and co-wrote 'Bhakshak' with Jyotsana Nath. Red Chillies Entertainment, Shah Rukh Khan's production company, is in charge of the film's production.

On its official Twitter account, the production company provided an update on the shoot. The tweet read as,

It's a wrap for Team #Bhakshak from a start-to-end 39-day schedule! Inspired by true events, we are bringing to you a gritty tale of a heinous crime against women and their quest to seek justice, produced by @RedChilliesEnt and directed by @justpulkit @bhumipednekar."

In the meantime, Bhumi wrote a note for the film crew saying,

"It has been an emotional roller-coaster, and 39 days later, we wrap #Bhakshak A film that will always remain close to my heart and the narrative that will continue to give me goosebumps. I feel proud bringing to you a jaw-dropping story of women coming together to fight for justice. Produced by @redchilliesent and directed by @justpulkit. See you soon in cinemas."

In the film, the Badhaai Do actress will be seen essaying the role of a feisty journalist who realizes the consequences, threats, and intimidation she may face as she uncovers a story.

On the film front, Bhumi has 'Raksha Bandhan', 'Govinda Naam Mera', and 'Bheed' in her kitty, besides 'Bhakshak'. She is also a part of Karan Johar's long-due project, 'Takht'.
