Shah Rukh Khan’s Met Gala look and appearance have broken the internet and with all of us Karan Johar believes so too.

The King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, finally made his much-anticipated debut at the Met Gala 2025 and what a showstopper it was. As speculation had swirled for months, SRK put all rumours to rest with a powerful entrance that instantly took over the internet. Clad in a statement-making ensemble by none other than Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the superstar brought Indian elegance and modern sophistication to the world’s biggest fashion stage.

True to his one condition, “let it be black or white”, Shah Rukh donned a sharply tailored black suit, epitomizing timeless grace. However, it wasn’t just the suit that caught the world’s eye. The actor’s accessories stole the spotlight. Around his neck hung a grand ‘K’ pendant, standing bold among an array of layered neckpieces. Each ornament, intricately curated by Sabyasachi, reflected a rich confluence of tradition and opulence, unapologetically regal, yet stylishly contemporary.

The attention to detail was unmistakable. Complementing the layered necklaces was a majestic cane, crowned with a sculpted tiger’s head, adding a commanding touch of drama and nobility. It was SRK at his finest: poised, powerful, and effortlessly stylish.

As Shah Rukh made his way down the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, he greeted fans with his signature open-arm pose, instantly triggering a wave of nostalgia. The moment, now captured in a viral video, quickly circulated across social media, drawing awe from admirers around the globe.

Karan Johar, a close friend and industry stalwart, was quick to react. Taking to Instagram Stories, he wrote, “ALLL HAIL the KING of the MET. The internet just broke into a gazillion hearts!!!!! @iamsrk …. bhai you R.”

This year’s Met Gala theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, celebrates the influence and artistry of Black fashion across centuries. Inspired by Monica L. Miller’s “Slaves to Fashion,” the theme explores Black dandyism as both identity and rebellion. Shah Rukh’s monochrome look, enriched with maximalist Indian detailing, resonated deeply with the essence of expression, individuality, and cultural fusion.

With Sabyasachi’s craftsmanship and Shah Rukh’s charisma, Bollywood royalty truly conquered fashion’s biggest night.
