"It is the first time that I will be a part of an existing show" - Mahima Makwana

Mariam Khan - Reporting Live, which brings forward the unfiltered and untamed innocence of an 8 year old curious child Mariam (played by Deshna Dugad), is all set for a 10 year leap.

Taking the story ahead, talented actor Mahima Makwana will be playing the grown up Mariam in an absolutely new and distinct identity. Mahima who has essayed varied characters donning distinct looks and body language with an equal ease is excited about joining the show. 

Separated with her family because of the twist of destiny, Mariam's new identity that of Manjeet will be traced and her journey will leave the viewers intrigued. A girl who is spilt from her family, starts a new life with a new identity and a new job altogether.

Talking about her character Mahima shares "As an artist, I always look forward to playing diverse characters which gives me ample scope to showcase my versatility. This character is a complete departure from my previous show on Star Plus. Post leap I will be playing the grown up Mariam but with a new dimension to her personality and another journey altogether. She is a strong girl who tackles every situation responsibly. Deshna has done a fabulous job and it will an added responsibility as it will a first time that I will be a part of an existing show."

Interestingly she will be seen as a female cab driver as a grown up Mariam. She adds, "In my previous show Rishton Ka Chakravyuh, I learnt Kalaripayattu. It is the thrill of picking up a new skill that keeps me motivated as an actor. I am always up for a new challenge with my shows, so when I was briefed about my character being a cab driver, I knew I had to look the part. So I am brushing up my driving skills to seem at ease while enacting the part. Eagerly awaiting audience s response as I hope to receive the same love and support from them which they have offered me in my previous outings on television."
