Is Madhuri Dixit-Nene being considered to play Sridevi in her biopic?

Legendary actress Sridevi, touted as India's first female superstar, passed away in February last year in Dubai due to accidental drowning. Even after one year of her demise, her fans and family are still coping up with the monumental loss, the worst affected being her husband Boney Kapoor and daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.

Meanwhile, it is evident by now that Boney Kapoor is keen on bringing Sridevi's cinematic journey on the celluloid. While we all wonder who would play the stunning actress in her biopic, a source close to the producer says that Madhuri Dixit-Nene seems to be the perfect fit.

"Really, if you look at the choices available to Boney, there is only Madhuri Dixit-Nene who has the stature, grace, range and dancing abilities to play Sridevi. Also, Boney and his brother Anil have always been very closely associated with Madhuri ever since she worked with Anil in iconic films like Beta and Tezaab. Madhuri seems like the feasible fit to play Sridevi," Deccan Chronicle quoted the source as saying.

Furthermore, a close friend of the Kapoor's told the daily, "Sridevi would have never wanted a biopic to be made. And even if she had, she would have wanted her daughter Janhvi to play Sridevi. But Janhvi is too raw and too close to the tragic death of her mother to play her."

Now if Madhuri, who was pitted against Sridevi every single time during her heydays, will take up the role of Sridevi in her biopic or not, is still left to be seen.
