Music runs in the veins of Ustad Ji. Ustad Ji was trained by his uncle in the classical and qawali musical fields and was touring with his world famous group by the age of fifteen. It was not long before he was performing solo songs at these concerts and in the 90s, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was singing in Lollywood, and in 2004, he had his Bollywood debut with "Mann Ki Lagan" in Paap. His voice took everyone by storm and now there is not a single Bollywood fan who would not know at least one of his songs.
