Having a good height, looking good and carrying oneself well always adds on positivity in the profile of an actor but when an actor is a bit too tall, he/she can be subjected to rejection in casting for films and television. After all, one needs to match up with the height of the co-actor too!
Shireen Mirza is one person who faces this challenge of meeting the demands of tailor made characters on television!
Speaking about the same, the good looking actor said, "I struggled for four years before getting Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. Infact, I had packed my bags to go back home in Jaipur as I was not getting any show due to my height. But then I received a call from Balaji Telefilms. They wanted a girl who could carry the look of a Punjabi kudi and that's how I bagged my first daily soap. My height was the primary reason I was offered Yeh Hai Mohabbatein."
Having done a few episodes of 24 on Colors and theatre, Shireen spoke about how difficult it is to essay Simmi in her current show, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.
She said, "Firstly, comedy is not my forte and my character initially came across as a mischievous person. I am loving my track now as it brings my character to light than just being a supporting character and also portrays various shades to my personality."
She laughed and added, "The second thing is that I am required to overshadow Mrs. Bhalla (Shahnaz Rizwan) on the show but she is too loud and happening. I still try my best!"
Speaking about her plans in future, she elaborated, "I want to do films too and want to explore my abilities. I am a director's actor and can pull of various roles so I hope I will not be offered clichéd characters."
Good luck Shireen!
