In conversation with Rakesh, the actor spills some beans about his new show.
Rakesh, you have had a long association with SAB TV. How does it feel to be associated with the channel?
I've been off Television for quite some time now, and that's true because I generally try to do projects which I like and am fond of. I've played a long innings on SAB TV with my show Yess Boss and now I am going to start another one. I feel at home when I am working on Sab TV because I love humor and that is the prime content on SAB. I feel elated to work with Sab TV because the channel lets you have a free hand to create comedy as long as it's clean and appealing to the family audience.
Tell us about your latest venture Y.A.R.O Ka Tashan?
YARO is an amazing concept and should go a long way on the channel. It's basically an emotional subject with children being its target audience. It's a bond between a robot and his parents, and then how the outside world reacts with the robot which has emotions too. I am sure it will appeal to the family audiences, especially the children.
You play a scientist on the show. Please elaborate your character.
I am playing a scientist in YARO, who doesn't have an offspring. His wife keeps nagging him that she wants a child. The scientist, (professor Aggarwal, my character) decides to create the child in his lab and successfully does so after lots of initial hiccups. Now all the people in the locality react in their own way to the child that has suddenly appeared out of thin air. Though the children are very happy to interact with YARO, adults take a different stance.
How did you prepare for the role of a scientist?
Well, I saw some films, TV shows, related to this subject. I also worked on my character sketch, my speech and of course the outward appearance.
Good-luck Rakesh!
