'I don't think I will survive a daily soap' - Chitrashi Rawat

Chitrashi Rawat, the talented forward in Chak De has added the flavor of comedy into her life as she sets foot to tap her hidden talent in Sony's Comedy Circus.. Catch the girl in a candid talk.

Chitrashi Rawat, the spunky Komal in Shahrukh Khan’s Chak De team is now part of the second season of Comedy Circus and is all excited about it. “I have decided to take up acting seriously and thought that instead of going to an acting school, participating in a reality show would be the best bet. That is why my entry in Comedy Circus," says the actress whose partner in the show is comedian Rahman Khan.

The girl simply loves the challenge put before her in Comedy Circus. “Every moment I am realizing how difficult it is to make people laugh. Mr Khan is helping me a lot, and so is our scripting department. Without their constant guidance and support, I don't think I would have survived in the show”.

So who does she think will win? “It is very difficult to say. Timing is very important in comedy and when you have a team of two, co-ordination is all the more important”, says the actress who is not at all interested in daily soaps. “I am shooting for 4-5 hours a day now and am finding it quite challenging. Being a player, I have to be on the run constantly – I can't stand in the same position for long! I don't think I will survive a daily soap!”, quips the girl.

Coming to her Chak De performance, one will be surprised to know that the shots wherein she plays hockey were real and she never needed to be tutored to play the game! “Yes, I have been playing hockey for quite some time and have participated in state and national level competitions. I did it purely out of my interest and passion. I started playing when I was in Class Six. Apart from my maternal uncle, no one in our family is even remotely connected to sports,” says Chitrashi who was selected for the role after Shimit Amin watched her play in a game.

The girl is now catching up with her shooting schedule after getting back from London. “I was in London because of Zee Cine Awards and as a result there is a backlog. I was nominated for the best supporting actress category, but unfortunately did not win it”, says a dejected Chitrashi. She is, however, looking forward to IIFA awards now.

Chitrashi will now be seen on the big screen in Madhur Bhandrakar’s film ‘Fashion’, where she plays a model co-ordinator’s role.
