"I don't deserve to get a house in Mumbai, because I'm a Muslim, Bachelor and an Actor"...

It is a genuinely sad and disheartening society we live in, where even in today's times, people are judged by their religion, relationship status and even profession.

Of course, we are not just talking about this issue out of the blue. In fact, I would like to thank actress, Shireen Mirza aka Simmi from Star Plus' Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, who recently came forward to address this problem.

In a throwback image from 8 years ago, Shireen mentioned how, since that day, the city has certainly given her a lot and made her the successful actress she is today. But, even after all this while and the kind of modern times we live in, she gets to hear that, she cannot get a house in Mumbai, because she is an M B A (Muslim, Bachelor and Actor).

In light of this, Shireen highlighted some crucial facts about what she had to go through, when she would search a house on rent.

From questioning her habits, only because she is an actress to asking her if she is a bachelor or married (where the latter is considered to be a safe bet) and asking about her religion, Shireen has witnessed it all.

My simple question is why Mumbai, a cosmopolitan city that prides in its diversity, is still so closed about all these factors.
