Sunny Deol did not speak to Shah Rukh Khan for 16 years post their tussle on the sets of Darr

Sunny Deol, Shah Rukh Khan, and Juhi Chawla’s Darr is one of the most evergreen films of Bollywood. A psychological thriller, the film gave some memorable songs such as Jaadu Teri Nazar and Tu Mere Saamne and also is known for SRK’s brilliant performance as an obsessed lover.

However, not much is known about the tussle between Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh that occurred during the shooting of Darr. In an earlier press interaction, he had said that he was never told that Shah Rukh’s character - an obsessive stalker - would be glorified in the film.

Ever since that tiff, Sunny refrained from working in a film starring Shah Rukh. He also admitted that he did not speak to the latter for 16 long years! In fact, he never worked with Yash Raj Films again.

In the latest episode of Rajat Sharma- hosted talk show Aap Ki Adalat, Sunny recalled the incident and on being asked if everyone on the sets of Darr was scared of him, Sunny laughed and said, “I guess, they must be scared because they were wrong.”

Sunny said, “At the end of the day, people loved me in the film. They loved Shah Rukh Khan as well. My only issue with the film was that I did not know they would glorify the villain. I always work in films with an open heart and believe the person. I believe working with trust. Unfortunately, we have many actors and stars who don’t function in this manner. Maybe that’s the way they want to get their stardom.”

Sunny felt cheated by the makers and he had told Filmfare in an interview then, “I’ll never work with Yash Chopra again. He isn’t a man of his words. I don’t have good memories about him, he betrayed my faith in him.”

That's sour grapes. He should not have taken the movie if he couldn't handle competition considering I am pretty sure even on paper, srk's role would look more lucrative to any actor eager to show their acting chops. He can't handle someone doing better than him in a movie. The article reeks of his insecurity. No wonder he does not do multistarrers that much since then. Can't tolerate it if someone overshadows him.

how easy it is to hide behind the words and he thinks that we will actually believe him!!! SRK has this talent and ability that very few actors have, to pull off any kind of role, it's very wrong of him to say glorified the truth is that he couldn't stand the fact that villain was more appreciated for his acting then the hero,SRK was the soul of the movie.Mr.Deol aapko aapka dhai kilo ka hath mubarak!! so keep showing off that hath of yours, that's all you have.

Everyone remembers SRK in Darr more than the hero!!!!

But then everyone remembers Sunny Deol in Damini more than the hero!!!!

It is about a character and how an actor made it come alive!!!!

Regardless of how Yash Chopra treated him, He somehow thought not speaking to SRK was a smart idea. Wow, just wow!! Look at this guy acting all big as if he's a superstar of some sort.

In a way it's good him and SRK didn't work together since Darr. SRK is a versatile actor who has done all kinds of roles and he deserves to work with good actors while he's still stuck with the same character and same action hero image and people only remember him because of his "dhai kilo ka haath" dialogue. Because that's all he has. One day it will fade away whereas SRK has so many memorable movies of different genres. Wake me up the day Sunny pulls of a role like that of Swades, Chak De! India or My Name Is Khan.
