Debutant Kshitiz Kiran Punia is all galore as he is part of a much-acclaimed show on Sony entertainment television currently titled Kavya- Ek Jazbaa, EK Junoon. The young actor was all thrilled and excited as he explored his television journey, something which he was really wishing for.
"Yes, I am shooting for the first time for television serials. I have always heard it's a different world altogether, and so I was mentally prepared to adapt but I was pleasantly surprised by how interesting this world will be. I am looking forward to experimenting with my craft and growing as an actor", he says.
Ask him about his character and how he prepared for his role, the actor says, "My character, Karan Singh, is born and brought up in Delhi or as I must say in his way, it's "Da Dellies" . The character has no direct or indirect background of bureaucrats in his family. Born to a Punjabi business class family, Karan likes to show off a little, he's charming, we'll spoken, mannered, egoistic yet competitive and a go-getter!
However, he has never faced a real challenge in his past, and his story in the show is a journey of self-actualisation.
His conflicts reflect the struggles of multiple people who tend not to showcase their insecurities to the world, but as you grow closer, you realise that behind the beam of joy there are silent hardships".
Talking about prepping for the role, "Luckily, I am from Chandigarh and have observed and interacted with people like Karan in my growing years. In fact I feel I do embody the character to some degree already. When I got the opportunity to play Karan Singh, I reconnected with my old friends and spent time at their homes with their families, their immediate social circle. I tried studying their journey of who they are now", he sums up.
