Hina Khan on TV actors and Bollywood

Television actors seem to be looked down upon for their journey in Bollywood. Even though they have made it on their own, done great work across various entertainment spaces, there are preconceived notions about this journey. And talking about this, Hina recently went on to say how there is hardly any bond between Bollywood and the small screens, the entire Cannes 2019 fiasco, and some more.

Hina went on to say how TV actors are ready to work if given an opportunity and added how she is not the right person because she comes from both the mediums and has done both films as well as TV for a while now. She says, "So, I am somewhere in the middle and I can speak on both the cases. What I see after all these years is that we (TV stars) are looked down upon. I don't know why."

Hina also spoke about her experience at the Cannes Film Festival last year and went on to reveal how she set an example for television by walking the red carpet and that is when things changed. She also added how she received support from the entire industry but she does not get why are they looked down upon. She also added, "I walked the carpet and some stupid comparison is done. Why? Had it been some film star's son or daughter it wouldn't have happened. It gives a clear sign that they look down upon us.

She further spoke about the whys of TV actors being looked down upon, despite giving Bollywood actors like SRK, Sushant Singh Rajput, and others. She quips that television actors are trained differently and they work under stressful conditions, however, films aren't and they are shot rather comfortably with scripts to read every day and no training before the shooting.

She adds, "You got to learn your lines, come on sets, there is so much stress. That doesn't happen in films. Maybe, that way our training is better because we are ready to shoot for 18 hours at a stretch. We can deliver 10 pages in one go when it comes to realistic performance and television. I have always mentioned it is over the top when it comes to performance.

Hina went on to say how TV actors can do films and with certain training, they will understand where to improve but they don't get the opportunity to do so. She also added how they don't have 10 films, but a star kid does have that kind of backing and with every film, they become better, eventually the best actor.
