Helly Shah on not 'really' being in touch with Swarigini costar Tejasswi Prakash: 'Last called her when..'

Helly Shah and Tejasswi Prakash worked together on the Colors TV show Swaragini – Jodein Rishton Ke Sur, which aired from 2015 to 2016. The daily drama, set around the lives of two half-sisters, Swara and Ragini, featured Helly as Swara and Tejasswi as Ragini. The show gained popularity during its run and contributed to the growing recognition of both actors in the television industry.

In a recent interview with India Forums, Helly Shah spoke about her time working with Tejasswi and reflected on how their bond developed during the making of the show. She addressed how audiences often mistook their on-screen relationship for a real-life one.

When asked that the audience assumed that Helly and Tejasswi looked alike and that they are sisters in real life too, the actress said. “People still think that we look alike. But we never felt like that. I don't know. Maybe she didn't feel that way, I didn't feel that way either. But maybe, we look alike from somewhere or maybe some resemblance. But great it worked for the show.”

Speaking about the friendship they shared while working together, Helly said, “Everyone knows about our bond. If you see those interviews and even today someone tags me and I'm like, what a day it was. All of us used to have a lot of fun. We used to have lunches together or just chit chatting. If we had time in between, we used to go to a nearby McDonald's and have coffee. It was a great time. How we spent those two years, how we left. We used to have fun. And also the show was really popular, so all of us enjoyed that recognition also that the show gave us. So, really really happy and grateful that Swaragini happened for everybody. Not just me, Tejaswi, but I think for everybody on the show. The show gave a lot.”

On being asked about their current equation, Helly shared that while they do not talk regularly, they continue to stay in touch during major life events. “I think we don't talk often. But sometimes something big happens in my life or in her life. I did speak to her, not recently, but when she won Bigg Boss , I was so happy. I was like, that girl deserved it. So, yes, we keep talking on and off. And I only have good wishes for her. She is killing it and how.”

Helly’s comments reflect a work relationship that evolved into lasting respect, shaped by shared experiences during a key period in both their careers.
