Today, we at BollyCurry, are celebrating the birthday of a versatile star who has won many hearts with his dancing and acting skills. We're talking about none other than Hrithik Roshan.

Born in the year 1974 to Rakesh Roshan, a well known actor and director, and Pinky Roshan, he's the grandson of the famous director-producer J. Om Prakash. His maternal grandfather introduced him to the world of Bollywood at the tender age of 6 where he danced to a song and it was shot without his knowledge.

After appearing as a child artist in several films in the 1980s, he debuted with Kaho Naa.. Pyaar Hai in 2000 which was declared a "blockbuster" right after its release. He won many debut awards for his performance in a challenging double-role, which was much appreciated by the audience and critics alike. However, his career went through a slump and his next couple of films did not do well, though he did have two successful films in between namely Mission Kashmir (2000), and the multi-starrer Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001).

The following two years proved to be unsuccessful years because all of his movies failed to impress at the Box Office and audiences failed to appreciate his performances in movies like Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne LageNa Tum Jaano Na HumMujhse Dosti Karoge! and Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon. After so many flops, a magazine cover described him as "finished" but the actor turned back with a bang in 2003 with Koi.. Mil Gaya, which became India's first successful Sci-fi movie and proved to be the highest-grossing film of the year. He played the role of a mentally disabled young man who becomes friends with an alien and helps him return home. This revived his career and he has had several hits since then including Krrish (2006), Dhoom 2 (2006), Jodhaa Akbar (2008), Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), Agneepath (2012), and Krrish 3 (2013). He also appeared in a cameo role for his childhood friend Zoya Akhtar's Luck By Chance, where he played the role of a superstar.

On the personal front, he married Suzanne Khan on 20th December 2000, right after the success of his debut film. On December 13, 2013, Hrithik announced that his wife has decided to end their 17 years old relationship and the couple is heading for a divorce. They have two children, Hrehaan and Hridhaan.

Hrithik has bagged six Filmfare Awards, nine IIFAs, six Screen Awards, six Zee Cine Awards, six Bollywood Movie Awards, five Stardust Awards, along with many other winning awards. He has a total of ninety two nominations, honours and recognitions to his credit.
