On January 19, the creators officially announced the commencement of the shoot, sparking excitement among fans and history enthusiasts alike.

Produced by Applause Entertainment, the series draws inspiration from historian and author Ramachandra Guha's acclaimed books, 'Gandhi before India' and 'Gandhi: The Years that Changed the World.' Capturing this monumental endeavor, the official Instagram handle shared a series of pictures from the shoot with the caption, "Capturing history in the making! #Gandhi filming now."

The casting choice for the iconic role of Mahatma Gandhi is none other than Pratik Gandhi, marking the third collaboration between the director and actor. Their previous collaborations, 'Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story' and 'Baai,' received widespread acclaim for their compelling storytelling and stellar performances.


Applause Entertainment revealed that 'Gandhi' is an international production and will be filmed at various locations in India and abroad, ensuring a grand cinematic portrayal of the life and times of Mahatma Gandhi.
