Grand Tamil release for 'The Wolverine'

Chennai, July 25 (IANS) Hugh Jackman-starrer "The Wolverine", releasing Friday, will open in over 100 screens in Tamil Nadu. It is titled "X-Men: Wolverine 2" in Tamil.

Intended to be the sixth installment in the X-Men film franchise, the film tracks the story of the American-Australian superhero Wolverine, who in association with an old acquaintance in Japan, fights a new battle, said a statement.

The film is jointly produced by Lauren Shuler Donner, Hugh Jackman, Hutch Parker and John Palermo, while 20th Century Fox is distributing it worldwide.

Directed by double Oscar-winning James Mangold, "The Wolverine" also features Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, Hiroyuki Sanada, Will Yun Lee and Brain Tee.
