Amongst the many things that the lockdown has brought everyone, the biggest motivation for them has been the fact that they are at least getting to stay with their families. However, that is one thing that TV couple Yash Tonk and Gauri Tonk are missing out on.

Gauri is currently staying here with her two daughters, Pari and Myrah and her mother, while Yash is all the way away in Hisar (Haryana). It so happened that Yash left for Hisar back on March 17th and as we know the lockdown was announced immediately after that.

In an interview with Times of India, Gauri said, "Yes, he isn’t with us in Mumbai. I am taking care of the family — our daughters Pari and Myrah and my mother — and also running errands. Yash left for Hisar (Haryana) to shoot for a film on March 17. Initially, his plan was to return to Mumbai if the situation (owing to the pandemic) becomes worse and the shoot gets stalled. A few days later, it was announced that there will be no shoots till March 31. However, since there was strong buzz that the shoot would resume if the situation improves, he stayed put.”

She added, “When that didn’t happen, I told him to go to his parents’ home in Sonipat, which is a few hours from Hisar. He was hesitant, as he didn’t want to leave his unit, but I told him to not burden the producer with his food and accommodation expenses. And, a day or two later, the nationwide lockdown was announced. We were shocked when we realised that we wouldn’t be together during such a crisis.”

Naturally, she is missing Yash’s loving presence. Gouri shared, “At a time like this, you want your partner to be with you. Koi saath mein hota hai, toh tension aur pressure wali situation mein thoda better feel hota hai. I miss him telling me, ‘Don’t worry baby, sab theek ho jaayega’ even when the tide is against us. I am handling everything on my own and putting on a brave front, but there are times when I need his shoulders to rest on. He misses us a lot, too.”

Though they video-chat, meeting in the virtual world is not the same. The actress said, “Hum log ek doosre ko video call karte rehte hain. Whenever I see him on the call, I want to burst out crying, but I hold back my tears for my daughters as I don’t want to look weak in front of them. The good thing is that he is home with his parents, they are looking after each other. Our daughters miss him a lot, especially Myrah. It’s difficult to make her understand that daddy won’t come home till the lockdown is over. She tells him things like, ‘Dekho papa, aapki baby ko chot lagi hai, aa jao na’. It breaks my heart. Hamare jaise kayi couples and parents honge jo apne partners aur bachhon se alag reh rahe honge iss time par. I send strength and prayers to them.”
