GHKKPM's Param Singh REACTS on show being under scanner & being blamed for TRP dip: 'If it DOESN'T work..'

Param Singh, who is essaying the character of Neil in Star Plus' Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, recently got in an exclusive chat with India Forums and spoke about the dipping TRPs of the show. We asked Param if he and the new cast of the show feel 'blamed' for the fall in the ratings and how, even after all of this, people are still loving his character. Spilling his heart out, Param delved into a heartfelt conversation with us. Read ahead to know.

The TRPS have finally seen a slight improvement, wedding drama seems to be working, how happy are you?

Yes, the rating has improved a bit. However, I'm not yet satisfied. I want it. I and my entire team want it to improve. The execution, everything like everyone is working really hard for that and we want to try improving the TRPs, the numbers and we'll do our best. So I am slightly happy but not, not like this is what we were expecting. Like this is not what we have thought about the show. We want to try harder. That's what we all are doing.

The show has constantly been under the scanner for the past few weeks due to its under performance, does it bother you?

I don't know about about that, that if it's been under the scanner or not. And I can only act and act with honesty and sincerity and act convincingly. Rest, I don't know what is happening in offices and who or what are the decision makers thinking. So my job is just to act and that's what I concentrate on. It only needs character. That's what my mind is always consumed with more than bothering.

More than bothering, do you ever feel blamed that the new generation is the reason behind the ratings drop?

I think there's not one thing which can be blamed. It is a cumulative thing. I don't know, exactly nobody knows. The business is trial and error and people want to experiment. It's art.  You want to just show what you believe in and what, what you want to show like basically if you are convinced you want to just show something which you have not done before and if it works, it's great.  If it doesn't work, you just try harder. That's how life is.

Nonetheless, people are loving your character Neil, for a change, we are seeing a lead character who is not a typical 'macho' guy who is fighting goons, the typical angry young man kinds. People are loving how innocent Neil is. Your thoughts on the same?

I'm extremely grateful for that and I'm grateful to the production for getting me on board for locking me to play this superb character which is innocent, which is mature. He is very deep, inexpressive and really a a good man so I'm enjoying it because I've not done anything like this. I've always played great characters. I'm having a good time. So yeah, this is it.

For the uninformed, Param replaced Hitesh in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin as the show took another generation leap. Vaibhavi Hankare has been roped in opposite Param in the show. Sanam Johar is also seen essaying a parallel lead. While the ratings of the show have been constantly dipping, this time around, it slow a slight improvement. With all the wedding drama going on, it was safe to say that viewers of the show are slowly getting drawn. There were reports earlier that the show is under the scanner owing to the constant dip in TRPs. However, there has been no official confirmation on the same as of now.
