"Ganpati Bappa is just like a best friend to me" - Monica Khanna

It is Ganesh Chaturthi today! It is just needless to say how important Lord Ganesha is in everyone's life. Be it wedding or any small occasion at one's place, it always starts with the name of Lord Ganesha. Well, the festival of joy, enjoyment, modak and lot of fun has already arrived, we got in touch with this pretty and petite actress Monica Khanna who is seen as Payal in Star Plus's Pyaar Ka Dard Hai...Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara... brings home Ganeshji with all respect and love. Here is what she has to say!

"I have kept Ganpati for seven days and this is the sixth year that I am bringing Bappa home. I am a strong believer of Ganpati Bappa. We have so many festivals spread across a year, but this is my favorite reason. I have some special connection with Ganpati Bappa and he is just like a special friend to me."

Is there any kind of theme that you have kept for this year?

"Every year I decorate my entire house on a special theme. The theme for this year is Shaadi with the Mandap and the Baraatis. So, I have decorated my entire living room according to the theme and it is looking as though someone is really getting married. You get that feeling of wedding. Jo dulhan shaadi ke waqt haath main pehenti hai Kalire, wo bhi latkaye hai. And the color scheme for this year is red, white and gold."

And what about delicacies...

"The kitchen department is handled by my mother. I cannot handle kitchen. But I will make kheer for bappa today."

Well, with the arrival of Bappa, we hope he brings in more prosperity, love and happiness in the life of Monica.
