For insiders, the good thing is they already know: Sadia Khateeb opens up on being an outsider

Bollywood actress Sadia Khateeb made her debut in showbiz with Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Shikara. The film was based on the love story of a Kashmiri Pandit couple Shanti and Shiv Dhar at the peak of insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir during the 1990s and the subsequent exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley.

The actress is now all set to shine on the big screen as she will be seen alongside Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in Anand L Rai's Raksha Bandhan. She will be seen essaying the role of Akshay's sister in the film.

Now in an exclusive conversation with India Forums, the actress shared her thoughts on being an outsider in the industry. 

Talking about the same she said, 
"In every and any field you have to work really hard to reach your goal. Just the difference is for outsiders it is going to take time. When I did my debut after my release I learned about a lot of things like giving auditions, meeting directors, and management there are hundred other things except for being in character and that I got to know after my first film released. So, I had no idea how industry and everything functions for insiders the good thing is they already know they are born and brought up in that environment. but at the same time Der aye Durust aye. one will learn slowly."

She concluded saying,

"Once an elderly man advised me Bhagta huva ghoda aur bheta huva pani apna rasta khud bana leta hai".

Well, no doubt that this diva will soon make her own mark in showbiz and will continue to do so.

Raksha Bandhan is a comedy-drama that talks about the special bond between a brother and his sisters. The film also stars Abhinay Raj Singh, Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb and Smrithi Srikanth in prominent roles. Raksha Bandhan is all set to release on August 11.
