Sun Safe

Sunscreen, an essential sworn by every skin care junkie. But what happens if you spend long hours under the sun. Even the best of products can fail. Blame it on the sweat and continuous sun exposure. Defeat this with Shrenu’s sure-shot choice of sunscreen.

Here’s Shrenu’s recommendation, “ Sunscreen is advised to be applied even when indoors but a spray formula is highly effective when you plan to stay under the sun for long. This form of sunscreen is light, effective and stays longer than usual ones.”

Stylish Yet Smart

Talking about clothes and her style picks, Shrenu says, “I keep my fashion game easy as the breeze of Uttarayan. I prefer light colored cotton fabrics in full sleeve designs. They help me stay cool and comfortable. I also use a cotton dupatta to cover my hair and further wrap it around my face.”

Smart trick, we must say!

Makeup Free

If all that you have on your mind are kites and to keep your skin safe while enjoying it, stay away from makeup products. Shrenu believes, “Make the most of the moment, don’t worry about makeup and taking selfies. Go makeup free! However if you do really want to apply something, opt for a light layer of BB cream, kohl and lip balm This will also add an extra layer of protection on your beauty.

Sweet Sugary Rush

To enjoy the kite flying festivity to the maximum, keep you spirit high. It is also important to look beautiful and energetic, both at the same time. And there ain’t a better way of making it without food. Shrenu suggests, “Binge on the staple Uttrayan delicacy, the yummy chikkis. Chikkis being rich in nutrients as well as carbs are great to supply the required energy to your body.”

Don’t Dehydrate Yourself

Stay hydrated. A flawless flushed skin is the result of drinking and eating water. Shrenu will tell you how, Shrenu suggests some yummy alternatives. “Gujarat is big on undhiyu and fresh fennel in winter, especially around the day of Uttrayan. While undhiyu is a mix of seasonal green vegetables that are popular in Gujarat, fennel is a herb which is usually available around Uttrayan.

Get The Day Off

Off-load the tiredness. Take the day off. Wash your face. Look fresh and ready to hit the bed. But wait a sec, what about all the tiredness that may not go even with sleeping. Shrenu has a sure shot remedy. Shrenu says, “Soak your feet in salted warm water for sometime. This will get you up and excited for vasi-uttrayan (a day celebrated on the next day of uttarayan)
