Everyone has the right to their own viewpoint: Taapsee Pannu on 'The Kashmir Files'

Vivek Agnihotri's latest film, 'The Kashmir Files,' is the talk of the town. Though the film was made on a budget of barely 15 crores, it has already grossed more than 200 crores at the box office, despite the absence of any major actors. Despite the controversy surrounding its content, the success of the hard-hitting picture has been lauded by everybody.

Now, Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu has spoken out about 'The Kashmir Files' phenomenal box office triumph. According to the actress, she is solely interested in the figures. It doesn't matter what caused this success or how such a modest picture performed so well at the box office.

Vivek's film, which is on the evacuation of Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Valley in the 1990s, has received mixed reviews from reviewers, with many accusing it of being a propaganda film. It features significant performances by Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar, Puneet Issar, Mrinal Kulkarni, and others.

However, Taapsee believes that a small film like 'The Kashmir Files' can't be dismissed because of its box office success. There may be doubts about the aim, the means, and everything else being expressed, according to her, but that is a subjective viewpoint. Everyone has the right to their own viewpoint. But at the end of the day, numbers will speak.

She went on to say that a film may affect more people emotionally and help them relate to it, but she also stated that no film will be approved by 100% of the audience. In addition, Taapsee feels that Vivek's film has demonstrated that producers no longer need to be concerned about the size of their projects.

On the work front, Taapsee will next be seen in the upcoming biopic ‘Shabaash Mithu’, directed by Srijit Mukherji. She also has ‘Woh Ladki Hai Kahan’ and ‘Blurr’ in her kitty.
