End of an era, but surely the beginning of another!

Sonia Singh, the actress who has won all hearts as the negative Antra in Star Plus afternoon soap, Kumkum Ek Pyaara Sa Bandhan is glad that she has created a niche on Indian Television with a good variety of roles.

Be it her negative role in Kumkum or the strict doctor in Dill Mill Gayye, or be it the Icchhadhari Naagin in Zee’s Naagin, this gorgeous actress has done full justice to all her roles.

As Antra in Kumkum she had a negative role, but later when she made a comeback into the serial, she got to play a repentant positive character. “Antra had lots of shades. It had negative as well as positive shades. The comeback saw a reformed and positive Antra; but in the beginning, there was lots of scope to perform,” informs the actress. Sonia plays the Icchhadhari Naagin Kanak in Zee’s Naaginn. A devoted daughter to her evil-minded Tantrik father, Sonia is set to capture all hearts in her new avatar and a new look.

Coming back to Kumkum, Sonia feels there are many characteristics of present positive Antra which are similar to the real Sonia. “I am completely different from old Antra. But the new Antra resembles Sonia to a greater extent. Sonia is very emotional just like the reformed Antra”, says the actress.

The new twist in Kumkum’s story has now given way for the murder of the character Antra, and this marks the end of Sonia in Kumkum Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan. But her fans can continue watching her in the other two serials, that she is a part of.

“I thank you all for giving me the love and support. After playing negative, viewers even accepted me as the changed Antra, and I really appreciate that. Please keep showering the same love on me always,” says the petite Sonia, as she promises to give her loyal fans much more to be happy about.
