Emraan Hashmi in Ekta Kapoor's Ek thi Naayika on Life OK

Ek Thi Naayika, the eight part series which is an industry-first marketing initiative exclusively created to promote a feature film has many surprises in store for the viewers.

While Vishal Bharadwaj and Ekta Kapoor will do cameos in different episodes of the series, the last episode will see an appearance by none other than the hero of the film Ek Thi Daayan. Talking about it producer Ekta said, "All the main actors from the film will make an appearance in the Television series Ek Thi Naayika and Emraan will be seen in the last episode."

Talking about her own appearance she said, "I am a very bad actor and all those who have worked with me know about this. I would rather play a tree and just stand there in the scene instead of shooting and acting. I want it to be a blink and miss appearance" says the shy producer who otherwise is an expert in extracting brilliant performances from her actors.

The eight-part TV series, produced by Ekta, goes on air from March 9 and features eight top TV actresses representing various states of India - Smriti Irani (Gujarat), Sakshi Tanwar (Rajasthan), Ankita Lokhande (Maharashtra), Aamna Sharif (Lucknow), Mouli Ganguly (Kolkata), Shweta Tiwari (Bihar), Kritika Kamra (Punjab) and Pooja Gor (Delhi). These TV icons will be seen in their different avatars and will be playing naayikas who wage a war with the daayans and eventually win over them.

"When I called them up for this show, they all accepted the offer immediately and I am very thankful to them for this gesture" said Ekta who has been instrumental in making her leading ladies a huge success in the entertainment industry.
