Amar Upadhyay, who essayed the character of Mihir Virani, in one of the most iconic shows on television: Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, recently opened up on the reports of the show heading for a reboot.
Speaking to Telly Chakkar and confirming the same, Amar reveals that discussions about the same are currently underway. He said, “Yes, discussions are underway, but nothing has been finalised yet. At this point, I can’t confirm anything, but fans will hear something soon.”
He further speaks about the overwhelming love he has been receiving from his fans and says, “I’m truly humbled by their unwavering love and support – it’s what drives me to keep striving for more. Whatever I am today is thanks to them, and I promise never to take that for granted. I’m immensely grateful.”

Amar was last seen in Doree 2. The show will also mark the comeback of Smriti Irani, who left her acting career for politics.
For those who do not know, reports of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi coming back with a reboot were earlier circulating in the media. These reports were then confirmed by Ektaa Kapoor, the producer of the show herself. When asked about Smriti Irani making a comeback with the show, the producer, without revealing much said that she is all set to bring a ‘politician into entertainment.’ The producer also spoke about her intention behind bringing the show back and stated that last time, the show could not hit the 2000 episodes mark and hence, this time, with a limited 150 episodes, the makers have decided to touch the mark.
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, aired on the 3rd of July, 2000 and enjoyed an 8 year long run before it was eventually pulled down in November 2008. The show starred popular faces like Smriti Irani, Amar Upadhyay, Ronit Roy, Mouni Roy, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan and many more.
