Elvish Yadav in legal trouble as NCW takes action on Racist remarks against Chum Darang

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken serious note of the racist remarks made by YouTuber and influencer Elvish Yadav against actress and Bigg Boss 18 fame Chum Darang. In response, the NCW has issued a summons to Yadav, requiring his presence on February 17.

The controversy arose when Elvish Yadav made offensive comments about Chum Darang during his podcast, mocking her name and ethnicity. His remarks sparked widespread outrage, leaving many shocked. Additionally, he ridiculed her association with the film Gangubai Kathiawadi, making inappropriate jokes at her expense.

Elvish was heard saying, "Karan Veer ko pakka COVID tha kyunki Chum kisko pasand aati hai bhai, itna taste kiska kharab hota hai! Aur Chum ke toh naam mein hi ashleelta hai… Naam Chum aur kaam Gangubai Kathiawadi mein kiya hai.” His comments demeaned Chum Darang's name and undermined her professional achievements, leading to public outrage.

Chum Darang later responded, strongly condemning Yadav's remarks. She pointed out the damaging impact of such comments and expressed disappointment over the incident. She stressed that Yadav's words blurred the line between humor and hate, targeting both her ethnicity and the effort she has put into her career.

"Disrespecting someone's identity and name is not 'fun.' Mocking achievements is not 'banter.' We must distinguish between humor and hate. What's more disheartening is that my ethnicity, my hard work, and a film backed by a visionary like Sanjay Leela Bhansali were all disrespected," she stated.

This incident has reignited discussions on racism, responsible humor, and online accountability, with many rallying in support of Chum Darang.
