New Delhi, March 4 (IANS) Having already proven his acting mettle in movies like 'Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!' and 'Dev D', Punjabi boy Abhay Deol will now show his driving skills in his latest outing 'Road, Movie' - he drives a 1940s Chevy truck in the movie.

'I like driving. I am a very confident driver so I had no problems (driving the truck for the movie). I could do it straightaway on the first day. I didn't undergo any training. It's the same as any other car. It's just a truck and much bigger so you just have to be more careful,' Abhay told IANS.

'Sometimes the DP (Director of Photography) would ask me to do the stunts. He would ask me to park it in position because I had such good control over it by the end of it all. I had fun driving the truck around,' he added.

Directed by Dev Benegal, the film also stars Satish Kaushik, Tannishtha Chatterjee and debutant Mohammed Faizal Usmani.

Mahesh Manjrekar lost 10 kg making new film

It's known fact that actors hit the gym hard to get rid of extra pounds, but actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar lost more than 10 kg while working on his movie 'City of Gold'.

'I was so engrossed in the process of making 'City of Gold' that I never realised I have lost 10 kg. 'City of Gold' is very close to my heart and while filming, I really didn't pay much attention on what was happening around me, or rather to me,' said Manjrekar.

'I think not being aware of such a change is quite natural when you are passionately involved in something that you wholeheartedly love,' he added.

Co-written by playwright Jayant Pawar and Manjrekar, the movie marks the latter's return to direction after a long break. It also marks DAR Private Limited's (DAR Media) entry into showbiz.

The film is a no-holds-barred look at the birth of the true underbelly and organised crime in Mumbai and at the mill workers who had to sacrifice everything so that the 21st century Mumbai could be built.
