Television actresses are often stereotyped for playing docile daughters-in-law and bahus, and in fact, more often than not, they are put in the box and perceived a certain way. There have been multiple instances when reality shows have helped actors break free of that image. However, Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, who is one of the television favourites, has done more than daily soaps. She won a reality show with husband Vivek Dahiya, has worked on a web series, and continues to explore.
When asked Divyanka what does she feel about the stereotypes despite someone who has worked across various kind of content and now, Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 - Darr v/s Dare. She told India Forums, ''Interestingly, I have worked with variety and have tried to make sure that I don't repeat my characters. I started off with playing an illiterate woman, even did comedy in between, then Ishita was a well-read woman, a today's woman, even did Crime Patrol, and Nach Baliye was different, but even then people only receive me as a docile bahu. Everyone thinks I am supposed to be that.''
She added, ''Yes, this show is a good phase in my life, I never thought that is why I want to do it, but yes, people will be able to see me in a different light. I have enjoyed it myself and lived something that I have waited for a long time, reconciled with the Divyanka I was a long time ago.''
On the work front, there have also been reports about Divyanka being a part of Bade Ache Lagte Hai season 2, however, nothing is finalised yet and we hear that the talks are still on. As of now, we will see her do stunts in Khatron Ke Khiladi, and we bet fans are excited about it.
